Bought the recently remastered version of one of my favorite anime series.

Saw pictures of these figures from K-on.  I think I like the chibi figure the best. I’ll have to hunt for it at next year’s anime expo.  Hilarious show, I recommend you watch it if you haven’t. TE

My friend from work recently recommended this series to me.  It was released in 1989 and well instead of me giving a crappy synopsis you can read it here.

Main reasons why I like this series: it is hilarious, it has humorous characters, the story is fairly original for a anime, and it is funny to see technology back then or rather the lack of it.  No cell phones! People had to set a time and meet etc.  Uh old CRT tvs. haha.  Oh just saw an episode where the kids were playing with an old school black and white gameboy.  Makes me think of the more recent anime where the kids are playing with the DS or PSP. hehe. I dunno I am weird and I find it funny.  Can’t believe how it it is 20 years old and I love it!

If you have netflix try the first disc.  Now if only Animeigo will release the 2nd season already!

P.S. Animeigo please re-release a re-mastered version of Orange Road please.

Since my XBOX is shipped away to Texas getting repaired for it’s infamous red ring of death I am constantly thinking about playing video games.  With the GF out of town for 2 weeks I’m lacking things to do.  As big of an anime fan I am, I can’t keep watching hours and hours every day.  I started reading a novel A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin and that has broken up the day a bit.  I would detail my car, but it’s still pretty shiny still from the last detail 2 months ago.  I can’t  really get into any PC games right now.  Tried playing Warhammer but stopped after like 5 minutes.  Also WOW has no appeal to me since all my friends are not playing it either.   So yeah, I am going nuts.  What’s funny is if I had the Xbox here I probably wouldn’t even play it that much.  Just longing for something you don’t have I guess is normal for people.  

I’ve been tempted to just buy a xbox and return it after I get my fixed one back.  Do you guys think that is unethical?  I mean Microsoft should give out loaners since this is their mess.  2-3 weeks without an xbox is pretty ridiculous.  I think by returning the xbox Microsoft takes the loss not the actual store.  Then again I am pretty lazy. I don’t know if I want to have to go back to the store and come up with some BS excuse on why I don’t want the xbox anymore.  Also I should be reimbursed for my XBOX Live time. 

Just finished watching the first season of Skip Beat.  It is pretty much a shoujo series.   I loved it, and the ending left me wanting more.  Hopefully there will be a 2nd season.  Brief run down girl loves guy that becomes famous.  Guy dumps girl.  Girl wants revenge and aims to become more famous.  The series is about her growth in show biz.  Of course there is a growing romance thrown in.  I enjoyed it.  So check it out.

Shoujo manga/anime the demographic is usually towards women.  I will admit there have been many Shoujo type anime/manga I have enjoyed.  If it is a dry humorless love story then that typically doesn’t entertain me, but if there is comedy and a great love story then I’m all for it.   So yeah I admit it, I love a lot of shoujo anime.   Although Bingying already knows that.    Off to find some more to download.

Saw this link on japanator.  Saw this amv before and thought it was great.  If you don’t know anything about One Piece though I doubt you’ll appreciate it as much. One Piece is definitely in my top 10 anime.  You can d/l episodes at kaizoku-fansubs.

Vandread the Region 1 DVD set is on sale at Rightstuf right now for 59.99. It was published by Geneon, but since Geneon is now defunct in North American you might want to consider getting this or you will never have a chance for a long long time.

The basic story is weak pansy boy gets super strong with his robot, while getting swarmed with a harem of girls. The usual comedic hijinks and old school CG animiation ensues in 26 episodes. It is generally a pretty wacky series but one episode did almost make me tear up I think. I also remember the main heroes voice was kind of annoying.

This series was pretty funny when I watched it years ago, but I might not appreciate it as much since now I power leveled myself with like 250 other anime series since then. For 60 bucks I might consider pick it up for sentimental reasons I guess since it was one of my first anime series watched.

ThatAnimeBlog has a pretty good preview for the Spring 2008 Anime line up.  So far not too many shows that I am really excited for though.

Er so this is otaku like yeah.  Thanks to GF for finding this one.   Japanese people have some interesting uh fantasies.
